According to Chinese Medical theory, emotions which are not expressed properly or are dwelled upon for too long, could damage the healthy flow of energy in the body and injure their corresponding organs. Unexpressed or inappropriatly-expressed emotions are considered in Chinese Medicine to be the internal causes of disease (the external causes being the environmental, climate and weather conditions: Cold, Wind, Dampness, Dryness, Heat).
